Privacy policy

What we collect

You can read everything here without giving us anything. We collect data only in these cases:

  • Newsletter. Your email address, if you subscribe. Used only to send the newsletter. Unsubscribe from any email.
  • Reactions. When you react to a post we store a one-way hash of your IP address and browser, rotated daily, purely to stop one person voting repeatedly. It is not reversible and is deleted after 90 days. We do not store your IP address.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics tells us which posts are read. It sets cookies and processes data per Google's privacy policy.
  • Advertising. Google AdSense may use cookies to personalise ads. Opt out at Google Ads Settings.

What stays on your device

Saved posts and your light/dark preference are stored in your browser's local storage. They never reach our servers, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Cookies we set

  • A short-lived cookie so a page view is counted once per day.
  • A session cookie, for site administrators signing in.

Who we share with

We do not sell your data. Processors we rely on: MongoDB Atlas (database), Cloudinary (images), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting), and Google (analytics and advertising).

Your choices

Ask us to delete your email address at any time and we will, without asking why. Contact us.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above.
