How we decide what to recommend

Recommendations come from three inputs, in this order: what we see fail at the repair counter, hands-on use, and published specifications. When those disagree, the first two win.

What we mean by "reviewed"

We label a post a review only when we have used the device ourselves. Posts that compile and compare specifications are labelled as comparisons or guides instead. We do not publish review structured data for devices we have not handled.

Payment and independence

  • We do not accept payment for reviews or for placement.
  • Affiliate commission never affects ranking or verdict. See the affiliate disclosure.
  • If a manufacturer supplies a device for testing, we say so in the post. It buys no guarantee of coverage or of a good verdict.

Corrections

We fix factual errors as soon as we learn of them. Significant corrections are noted on the post. Prices and availability change constantly — we update where we can, but always confirm the current price with the retailer before buying.

Use of AI

Posts are written and edited by people. We may use AI tools for drafting assistance or research, but every published claim is checked by a human, and nothing goes out unreviewed.
